A Chara,
Well, as you wake up this Sunday morning, I hope you are brimming with hope and anticipation of what is to come later on this evening.
First, our intermediate hurlers are in championship action in Páirc Uí Rinn at 3pm when they go head-to-head against Aghabullogue in the first round of the Co Op Superstores Intermediate A Hurling Championship. Tickets for this game are only available ONLINE and NO tickets will be available at the gate. Click on the below link to buy your ticket here:Click Here to Buy Tickets
U16s are free.
Best of luck to all the team and management. Give it everything lads! Please make every effort to show your support and be sure to wear the green and white!
Of course, after that match concludes attention turns to GAA headquarters in Dublin where Cork face Waterford in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final at 5pm. We are extremely proud in Aghada to have FOUR club players involved in the team. Best wishes to Ali Smith, Aoife Healy, Hannah Looney and Amy O'Connor in the big game. We hope ye will be bringing the O'Duffy Cup down to Rostellan a few days over the winter girls! As you read this email, Vera Terry and a huge Aghada crowd will be boarding their bus to Croke Park in Rostellan with great excitement for the day ahead. Well done to Vera for organising a bus to the match and hopefully ye all enjoy the day. UP THE REBELS!
Finally, two weeks ago our club president John Motherway celebrated his 80th birthday. Apparently, he had 5 birthday cakes over the course of a week! We thought that might be the end of our birthday shout outs for a while but it turns out we have another 80th birthday to celebrate today. We wish the happiest of birthdays to one of our club vice presidents and Aghada stalwarts, Anthony Cashman, who hits the milestone today. Hopefully you'll get treated to plenty of cake and fingers crossed we'll have a good day on the playing field to make the day even more special for you. Happy 80th Anthony.
Well sin é. Enjoy the feast of Gaelic Games today.
