Aghada GAA Juvenile News
Hi folks, hope all is well. The adult AGM proved historic when the One club model was unanimously voted in, emotions ran high including myself but pleasingly there was not one dissenting voice against amalgamation but rather of the decoupling of the membership fees from this proposal, this did not affect the overall outcome and proposal was strongly carried and we drive on and wish everyone the best for 2023 - Ár nDícheall Go Deo (our Best always). More exciting news from the AGM saw the election of Pat O’ Connell, Gerry Crowley and Tommy Foley to the honorary positions of vice presidents, a great honour for these 3 club stalwarts who join Anthony Cashman in this position and of course our esteemed president John Motherway at the top of the tree.
We all have hopes of the future, we dream of what might be, the ups and downs of the road ahead, are just part of our journey, made easier because we travel it – together.
Well done to all from the parish who competed in the All-Ireland cross country championships in Donegal last Sunday.
The big match is on this Saturday night on the Bishopstown 4g surface one of the biggest matches in the juvenile sections history as we take on Sars of Glanmire in the u16 Premier 1 Hurling championship final. These lads won the premier 2 u14 county final a few years ago and have been on an upward curve ever since due to the great dedication of the players and coaches and we wish them the best of luck in this next and very important step in their development, so please support if you can as the lads would get a great boost from seeing a big Aghada crowd in attendance. Just to note this match will be preceded by the u16 P2 hurling final hence the late throw in for our game at 8pm.
