A massive week ahead for our club with our premier intermediate footballers facing Cill Na Martra on Saturday in the quarter final of the county championship. Of course, the lads have worked incredibly hard to get to this stage of the competition, especially after a marvellous hard-fought win against Castletownbere in Enniskeane two weeks ago. It was fabulous to have such a big support down west and it certainly helped to drive our lads on. Every game at this stage of the season gets bigger in magnitude and importance so it will require a huge effort from the lads to get over the line on Saturday next. With such a big effort needed, please get out and shout the team and management on. The game throws in at 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon in Ballincollig. On Monday next, our Junior B hurlers will be out again when they face Killeagh at 7:30pm in Rostellan. The lads will be hoping to make it three wins for three in the group so come down and support the team. Tickets for this one will be available at the gate.

Well done to Céin O’Driscoll and Rob Stafford who were involved in Perth GFC’s great win in Australia last weekend. Great to see the skills learnt and practiced so often in Rostellan travelling to the other side of the world with ye. Fair play lads!!!

Congrats to Eoin Healy and James O’Connell who were involved in Wandsworth Gaels historic first ever county final triumph in London last week.

Well done to the Aghada Senior Ladies Footballers who went four from four on Sunday in the group stages of the senior ladies football championship when they defeated Inch Rovers in Rostellan. This now means the girls have qualified for the Senior A Semi Final which will take place in Rostellan in two weeks’ time. A great achievement girls. Best of luck in the next round!

Best of luck to the Aghada Camogie team who are playing Eire Og on Saturday in Ovens at 6pm and are also hoping to make it three wins from three.

A big shout out to Ger Melvin who got married to Orla last Thursday. Everyone in Aghada GAA wish ye many years of happiness together.

Finally, best of luck to all our club members who may be starting college/work/apprenticeships in the coming weeks after receiving leaving cert results a few weeks ago. An exciting time ahead regardless of what path you choose so enjoy the start of your new chapter.
