The return to play has gone well and this week the big uns joined the little uns in taking their turn back on the fields of Rostellan, footballing and hurling to their hearts content. Thanks to all who have helped the return to play to flow as smoothly as possible.

There are even match fixtures in the pipeline and it seems one way or another the 7th of June will see Aghada play their first competitive game of the 2021 season. More on fixtures as they are fully confirmed but all systems seem to be heading in the right direction thankfully.

Membership

With all back training, and matches on the horizon, the 31st of May has been set as the deadline for having your membership paid. As always even if you are not playing, selecting, coaching or whatever this year, there is still a great option to sign up for supporters membership which allows you to proudly remain a member of YOUR club, See all membership options at the following link –

Club Shop

The club shop is also slowly awakening from its slumber. Newly designed Aghada gloves are in. The design of which was chosen by the wise people on twitter(what could possibly go wrong!). And also personalised Aghada jerseys are now available. Click and collect has been in operation and the shop hopes to open 2/3 times a week for May. Please follow the covid guidelines and check out the club shop’s facebook site for more information on all of the above - Aghada GAA Club Shop - Home | Facebook

Mizen to Ballin 4 Kieran in aid of Marymount Hospice

Ok so Trevor O Keeffe has decided to give himself and 23 others a right pain in the ar*e!! Stop now all ye that are saying he’s had plenty of practice at that 😊!! No, all credit to Trigg he has come up with a great idea to honour Kieran and to raise funds at the same time for the fantastic Hospital & Hospice at Marymount.

24 of Kieran’s friends are going to cycle from Mizen head to Ballinrostig on July 24th. A total of 160km from West to East Cork. The 24 lads are out training at the weekends at the moment and lots of organisation, help and planning is being put in place for the day of the cycle itself. The cycling group is limited to 24 on the day due to health and safety reasons as obviously there are lots of considerations with a group that size cycling on main roads. If you do want to help out in some other way or for more info contact Trigger on 086 2748797. Ashling O’Connor has organised a facebook site for the fundraiser which will give out regular updates on the preparation and Ash has also set up its own JustGiving fundraising page where people can donate to this great cause. Best of luck to all involved and especially the hardy souls, taking to the bikes. They’ll have hardy something else that rhymes with souls by the time they arrive back in Ballin!!
