As you will all know by now on foot of today’s Government announcement, the GAA, Ladies football and Camogie Associations have announced a suspension of all GAA activities including games, trainings and team gatherings at all age ages and all grades. This will come into effect for us in Aghada from midnight tonight until March 29th inclusive. The full statement is outlined below. We know everyone will respect and abide by this very serious decision the heads of our National games have taken. Strange and difficult times ahead. I’m sure plenty of people will have withdrawal symptoms pretty quick from not being involved down in our grounds(mostly the kids!), but hopefully the situation will have improved by the end of March and fingers crossed really hard that these measures will help as many people as possible to remain safe and healthy and normality might slowly return to our shores.
Statement from GAA :
“In light of this morning’s Government announcement, the GAA, An Cumann Camógaíochta and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association have decided to suspend all activity at club, county and educational levels until March 29 (inclusive) from midnight.
This is to include all games, training and team gatherings at all ages and all grades.
We will continue to liaise with Government officials and review the situation between now and the end of the month, assessing the impact of these measures on our competitions.
In the meantime, the Association is encouraging all members to continue to follow the guidelines which have been provided by the Health Authorities.”
