Tonight was the last night out with the U8s until next year. The U7s had 2 games against Fr O’Neills. What a fantastic end to their season. They were just amazing, using all the skills they learnt during the year. The U8s played two very competitive games against each other. It’s was great to see almost full attendance of the 40 girls tonight. Thanks to our two refs for the U7s matches, Aisling Gilroy and Áine Wallace. Over the season, these girls and many others from U16 and Minors have been wonderful role models for the younger girls. A sincere thanks to Hannah Looney who came tonight to give the girls “graduating to U10” their certificates and medals and the U7s their end of year game medals. Hannah spoke to the girls about working hard, practicing every day, staying at sport whilst reminding the girls how lucky they are to have such great facilities and teams in Aghada GAA Club. Vera Terry, our chairperson, thanked all the parents and mentors for a great season. The girls left the clubhouse and camogie 2018 behind them with huge smiles on their faces and a small “mostly healthy” goody bag already looking forward to 2019.
