U13 P2 Football v Midleton
Date: 28/05/18
Venue: Midleton
On a scorcher of an evening in Midleton, the Aghada boys put in a performance that showed that there is no substitute for work rate and high intensity. From start to finish, they gave no quarter to their hosts. Harrying the man on the ball, chasing everything that moved and supporting their team mates, the Aghada lads lead by 4 points to 2 at halftime. Truth be told, the scoreboard did not do justice to how both sides had played.
At half time, rehydration was the order of the day. After a few calming words and clear instruction from management the lads went out for battle for the second half. The workrate was maintained throughout. Defenders stood up on their men and attacked the ball. Midfielders drove forward with the ball and the forwards bamboozled their markers with their movement. They gave their best performance of the year by far and outscored their hosts by 4-4 to 1-2 in the second half. The green flags were raised by John Walsh, Hugh Mulcahy, Seán O'Callaghan and James Motherway.
Every player stood up and was counted and played their part in a great win for Aghada.
Final score: Aghada 4-8, Midleton 1-4.
