Aghada 3 -8 Bride Rovers 3-7

On a beautiful evening and well prepared Dungourney  pitch we had a great battle against the boys from Rathcormac coming out on the right side after a immense and cracking contest. This game was played at a ferocious pace from the off both teams playing good, honest and tough football. Bride Rovers had the ball in our net after 2 minutes after we had missed a great goal chance ourselves. From there to half time we played the better football gradually getting good scores, fine points from Ben, Rían and Bobby and good goals from David and Bobby. Half time score 2-4 to 1-1.

Second half was alot different Bride Rovers got an early goal having alot more possession but through aggressive tackling and defending  in numbers by our lads we limited scoring opportunities. Going into the last few minutes we lead by 4 but Bride Rovers kept coming and scored a goal and a point to level. Our lads never dropped their heads and with the referee playing a few minutes additional time we conjured up 2 huge scoring opportunities, first one David cracked off the crossbar and the second one the goalie tipped over the bar. The game finished as it started a welter of excitement a great battle and thankfully for these boys a great victory. All the boys put in a huge shift on day from starting 15 to subs who came in.
