U14 Football Shield Semi Final

Aghada 6-5 Carrigtwohill 1-3.                                    19/6/23

We played Carrigtwohill below in Rostellan on a lovely evening for a match. We  got off to a very slow start and we were lucky not to be more than 2 points down, but once we started to move the ball at pace and with purpose we started to cause our opponents alot of problems. We brought on Rían O’ Brien after 20 mins and it had a quick impact with him punching the ball to their net we followed up with more goals through David and Jack. Half time score Aghada 4-5 Carrig 0-2. Second half was very even in terms of possession and scores taken. We conceded a goal from the penalty spot but defended very strongly with our boys chasing and  harassing carrigs forwards throughout the 2nd half. We ran out good winners but with  plenty to improve on as we play Bride Rovers in Shield Final. Best for Aghada Jack Kelleher, Dara O’ Brien, Darragh Crowley, Donncha Walsh, Conor O’ Reilly and Mike McRae. Aghada team Cathal Lowney, Dylan Kearns, Donncha Walsh, Finbar Alcock, Darragh Crowley, Dara O’ Brien, Mike McRae, Cormac Cashman,  Jack Kelleher(1-0), Conor O’ Reilly, David Murphy(2-04), Marcus O’ Loughlin, Jake O’ Sullivan, Sam Ahern(1-01), Bobby O’ Riordan.subs all used Rían O’ Brien(1-0),Colin Crowley(1-0), Leon O’ Connor, Maidhc Collins and Tim O’ Hanlon.
