Announcement from our East Cork Harbour Marathon team -
Firstly, we hope this message finds you all safe and well. To say that we are living in strange times is an understatement. Like most of you, we began this spring with fresh plans and a renewed vision of how we could help make this coming year into our best year yet. The last 6 weeks have reshaped how most of us define what it means to have a good day, let alone a good year. With this perspective, we see what is truly important in our lives and what is of real value when all is said and done.
With all of this in mind, the team at East Cork Harbour Marathon has recently made the very difficult decision to cancel our planned event for the year 2020. As you can imagine, this decision was not one taken lightly. However, we believe it to be the correct one. We have already set our planned date for next year, Saturday August 7th 2021. By that time, we hope that the world will be in a much better place. Just as importantly, we hope that you will all be fit and well and ready to join us for a day of true community celebration. In the meantime, we stand in solidarity with the rest of the country and the wider world as we stay apart in order to one day come together again.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who have been associated with our event since we began in 2016. To all past athletes, our fantastic volunteers and faithful sponsors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and hope that you will come back to support us in 2021. It really won’t be long coming.
Stay safe and well everyone,
