The ECHM Donation Celebration Evening is on next Friday November 30th at 8pm in The Long Point Bar. Everyone is invited down to join in the celebration and finger food will be served on the night. It would be great to see as many people as possible call in on the night. During the evening the ECHM committee will be presenting the donation cheques to the worthy benefactors from this year’s marathon. Along with our Gaa club, this year’s local benefactors include – Whitegate Rowing Club Defibrillator Fund Saleen & District Residents Association Rostellan Residents Association Aghada Village Residents Association Whitegate Residents Association Lower Aghada Pier Development Group Marymount Hospice (Official Race Charity Partner) will receive a cheque for €9,000 from this year’s race. This brings the total raised for Marymount to €24,812.59 over the last three years. The total raised for community initiatives is €38,025.70, and benefactors in previous years here include - Rostellan to Whitegate People’s Path Fund -Aghada National School Autistic Centre -Lower Aghada Tennis Club -The Friday Club -Aghada War of Independence Committee. So you can see that all the hard work is proving worthwhile. Again the support of so many volunteers is greatly appreciated by Brendan Crowley and his committee. And just what goes into the running of this fantastic community event?
