Aghada Minors Advance To County A Minor Final…
Aghada advance to the County Minor A Final after a great battle with Mourneabbey played in Rostellan on Monday afternoon last. This was a ding ding affair with the seaside girls just pulling away in the end.
Christine Moran opened the scoring with a well taken point, this was quickly cancelled out when Mourneabbey replied with one of their own. From the resultant kick out Mourneabbey won it and a long delivery went all the way to the net. A good move from the seaside girls put Clare Walsh through and she made no mistake from close range to rattle the back of the Mourneabbey net. It was level again and we were only six minutes in. Lauren Linehan landed a free for Aghada and Walsh kicked another but back came Mourneabbey and kicked two points of their own to level up matters with just fifteen minutes on the clock.
Mourneabbey took the lead on sixteen minutes when they landed another point but Moran was on hand to put the ball past the Mourneabbey keeper straight after and the seaside girls pushed two points clear. Mourneabbey were then awarded a penalty but the takers shot went wide, a let-off for Aghada. Mourneabbey hit a purple patch and hit three points on the trot to go one clear with halftime approaching but Moran was to have the last say of the half when she landed a point for the seaside girls to leave the game all square at half time Aghada 2-6 Mourneabbey 1-7.
Aghada upped their game in the second half with Linehan opening the scoring with a point, quickly followed by one from the boot of Aileen Mc Grath. Linehan landed two frees for the seaside girls and all of a sudden they pushed four clear. Mourneabbey got a point back on the 51st minute but this was to be their only score of the half, with Aileen Mc Grath and Linehan finishing the scoring for the seaside girls to leave the final score Aghada 2-10 Mourneabbey 1-8.
Aghada now meet our neighbours Glanmire in the County Final which has the makings of a great game of Ladies Football. This fixture will more than likely be played on Sunday 12th, venue and time TBC.

Munster Club Junior Final…
All roads lead to Mallow on Saturday next when the refixed Munster Junior Club Final takes place. Finuge / St. Senan’s from Kerry are the opposition who are on a high at the moment as their sister Camogie club landed the Munster Junior Club title last weekend. This is a historic occasion for the club as it’s the first time we have ever competed in a Munster Club Final. We would appeal for as many people as possible to make the journey to Mallow on Saturday to support the girls. They deserved the support. So to recap…
