Intermediate Hurling League Division 2 – Aghada 3-18 v Tracton 0-11 ; 30/4/2016.
Aghada’s hurlers travelled to Minane Bridge last Sunday to get their championship preparations going in earnest, and will be pleased with a comprehensive victory and their first win in this year’s league. Aghada played well from start to finish and were always in control of the result. 2 first half goals from Pearse O’Neill and Cian Fleming helped them to a half time lead of 2-7 v 0-6. It was more of the same in the second half. With Tim Harnett going well at the back and Stephen O’Keeffe and Aaron Stafford dominating midfield, it gave a platform where all 6 forwards registered on the scoreboard. Will Leahy finished with another big haul of 11 points. A third goal from Kevin O’Hanlon helped Aghada run out very comfortable winners by 16 points.

Junior Hurling League Division 3 – Aghada 0-25 v Cobh 3-14 ; 28/4/2016.
Our JB hurlers got their 2017 season off to an impressive start hitting a massive 25 points over in Cobh last Friday night. Again this was a game where the result was never in any doubt as Aghada led from start to finish and had a comprehensive half time lead on a 0-17 v 0-4 scoreline. The home side did improve significantly after the break and hit 3 goals in the second half to make it a somewhat nervous end to the game. However the goals came much too late to affect the final result and Aghada left with the 3 points on offer. Charlie Terry with 7 points and Daniel Creedon with 6, had the biggest hands in keeping the scoreboard ticking over for Aghada.
